 Surf Event
« Thread Started on May 6, 2009, 4:44pm »

There is supposed to be a surf event in Cork on the weekend of 16/17th of May. Event will most likely take place at either Garretstown or Inchadonney.
The event will cater for everyone - beginners looking for a bit of coaching, intermediates looking to improve and experts looking to ....... show off/get beaten for everyones entertainment. There will be some demo boats there for people to try and hopefully a demo waveski or 2 aswell.
Are any of you interested in attending?? have you got time??
Please post if you are interested.

Hey Daz, I know as much as you but Brendan's original post does say
"The event will cater for everyone - beginners looking for a bit of coaching, intermediates looking to improve and experts looking to ....... show off/get beaten for everyones entertainment. "
so I'd imagine everyone is welcome!
Waveriders is well worth seeing I'd recommend it. Just tell the kid it's Hanna Montanna, he / she / it will never know! ;D

The surf forcecast does not look great for the weekend and there's talk of moving the event to Lahinch or Castlegregory, where there should be good surf. How many of you guys can and will travel??

The intent is to have another event in Cork later in the year.

Despite the fact that you've been sending me that picture all week Mick I only just realised it's actually a dinosaur head and not just a big black blob like I thought...
Anywho if there's no surf thingeybob in Cork I'll prob be in Limerick so Lahinch would suit me nicely please and thank you. Make it so.

If there's no surf everyone should drink copious amounts of guinness and try to re-enact the old guinness ads that had surfing in them, possibly with crowd surfing instead of water surfing

All,
Due to the forecasted high winds for the south coast this weekend, it has been decided to postpone the Cork event scheduled for this weekend.
Sorry for the late post. The event will be re-scheduled and the new date will be posted soon.
